The Late Great Creature by Brock Brower
Bringing to mind Tim Burton’s “Ed Wood” and those great old Roger Corman horror flicks, Brower’s 1971 cult-classic novel has been deservedly reissued. Brower tells the story of Simon Morrow, the aging star of B-movies who’s looking to return to the limelight with a low-budget remake of Poe’s “The Raven.” Much of his tabloid-ready tale is told through magazine writer Warner Williams, who’s looking for his own limelight with a sensational feature on the old schlock star.
