Head over and “like” Brock Brower’s Facebook page to see the original, 1971 cover art for The Late Great Creature, being re-released by Overlook this October.

I’m really excited about this one, a crazy combo of pulpy-culty horror and literary merit. NBA-nominated for heaven’s sake!
Quoth the Booklist, “Brower funnels low culture into high literature with devil-may-care abandon, never pausing his writerly gymnastics long enough to care if a few readers get left in the dust. But those who keep up will be riveted.”

This amazing reissue is something of a pet project here at BookishHQ. Get on board early and be the coolest kid in school!
